Attorney Amy Melton lives in Joliet, Illinois and is a married mother of two children, one of whom has been diagnosed with Autism. After receiving her Bachelor of  Arts from the University of Wisconsin -Madison, Amy received her Jurist Doctor, cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law. She received her Illinois law license in 1998 and later became a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois.

 

While in law school, Amy “graded on” Law Review and became an Assistant Editor. Her law Review article, “Blind Leading the ‘Colorblind’-The Evisceration of Affirmative Action and a Dream Still Deferred”, was published and has been repeatedly used as a legal reference by other authors.
